Free and open-source software (FOSS) cell at SAC, is a community of passionate students and faculties, who have come together for the cause of promoting and contributing to Free and Open Source Software. The cell strives to bring more student developers into the open- source community and thereby leading to FOSS promotion within the institution. Free and open-source software (FOSS) cell is a group of students passionate and enthusiastic about free software and technology. The cell frequently conducts coding contests and sessions on open-source software. The cell strives to bring more student developers into the open-source community. They also provide mentorship for student projects. This cell was established under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in the year 2017. Objectives To expose students to FOSS environment and facilitate them to use open software/ hardware. To promote Research & Development activities on FOSS. To explore on various Open Source Certifications and Outreach Programmes. To collaborate with and contribute to various open source communities and societies.
