In today’s digital era, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a vital role in transforming the educational experience, and Sree Ayyappa College is committed to leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning. Global developments, including the recent pandemic, have reshaped the learning environment, promoting a blended mode of education that combines both online and offline engagement.
Our institution offers a robust ICT infrastructure to support this dynamic learning ecosystem. Smart classrooms, a WiFi-enabled campus, and a fully automated college library create a tech-friendly environment that facilitates interactive and modern learning experiences.
We use platforms like Moodle LMS and Campus Genie to provide students with access to course content, assignment submission, and collaborative discussions. The college maintains a Gsuite account and uses Google Classroom for seamless academic interaction. Virtual teaching tools such as Google Meet and Zoom are regularly used to conduct live online classes.
To further support academic needs, students benefit from the Koha OPAC system for searching library resources and the DSpace academic repository for accessing research papers, theses, and publications.
Sree Ayyappa College is also a SWAYAM Local Chapter, enabling students to enroll in NPTEL MOOCs — an initiative by the Government of India that offers top-quality courses from institutions like the IITs. These certified courses allow students to enhance their skills alongside their regular academic programs.
An important component of our e-learning environment is our association with the INFLIBNET Centre — an Inter-University Centre of the UGC under the Ministry of Education. Headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, INFLIBNET promotes access to digital libraries and information resources across India. Sree Ayyappa College subscribed to INFLIBNET in the academic year 2017–18, aiming to enhance resource utilization. As of 30.03.2023, a total of 333 users are actively subscribed through the college.
In addition to these platforms, the college also uses official mail groups, WhatsApp groups, and faculty YouTube channels to share updates, lecture content, and learning materials effectively.
Through this comprehensive range of e-learning platforms and ICT tools, Sree Ayyappa College empowers its students with flexible, accessible, and future-ready education aligned with the demands of the digital age.
